Candlestick Cassias Growing...

Hi Everyone! I just thought I would share a plant that I am growing here in LA. While I was exploring Santa Barbara I found this beautiful Candlestick plant. Senna alata. It is in the Legume family, the same genre that includes peas and lupines, and the seeds were fun to collect and are OFFiCiALLY germinating. Now this is a plant that is tropical. If you are a gardener try it! Recommended for zones 9 and up, but if you live in a colder region it may be available as a stunning summer specimen! I grew it also in Florida where it would grow into an 8 foot bush that attracted tons of butterflies. I will upload a picture of one of my seedlings as soon as I return to California!
